“On behalf of Boutique Hospice Shoppe, we were pleased to participate in the Social Enterprise Traction & Growth program hosted by Social Enterprise NB. The program provided us with the time and structure to work on the business, share and connect with fellow social entrepreneurs, and be part of a growing sector. We would love to take part in more programming.”
- Frances LeBlanc, Executive Director, Hospice SENB
“While there is a multitude of support structures for those opening regular for-profit businesses, the path to founding a social enterprise is far murkier and gains far less financial and government support.
This made the insights I gained during the Social Enterprise Deep Dive both rare and vital. Like many of those working in the not-for-profit world, I found the core step to move from government funding to self-sufficiency a daunting one, requiring a total organizational mind shift about why we even existed.
Now, as we get ready to launch our online intercultural competency course as our first social enterprise, I can genuinely say we have the Pond Deshpande Centre’s guidance to thank for turning potential into reality.”
